About the Bharathidasan University
Bharathidasan University established in February 1982, and was named after the great Tamil revolutionary poet, Bharathidasan (1891-1964). The efforts of the university to be true to that vision in the region by creating a new world of academic innovation for social change.
The main campus is initially in an expanding area of over 1,000 acres in Palkalaiperur. However, as in past years, the South Course at Palkalaiperur with the available infrastructure was donated to the recent establishment of the Anna University of Technology. Very recently, another part of the land has been assigned to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Tiruchirappalli. In addition, the University has a campus in the center Khajamalai, which originally housed the Graduate Center of the University of Madras to Tiruchirappalli.
