Indian Air Force has published notification in Employment News (3 – 9 September 2016) ,inviting ONLINE application from UNMARRIED MALE INDIANS (also citizens of Nepal ) for selection exam in January – February 2017 to join as Airmen in Group ‘X’ (Technical) or Group T (Non-Technical). {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades or in both Groups ‘X&Y’ (Technical/Non-Technical in single sitting.

1.Group ‘X’ (Technical)
- Qualification Required: 12th pass / equivalent with Maths, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR 3 years Engineering Diploma in in any technical stream from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute scoring 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in 12th/ 10th class , if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.
2. Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) (Except Automobile Technician, IAF (P), IAF(S), GTI, & Musician) Trades
- Qualification Required: 12th pass / Equivalent Examination in any stream, approved by Central / State Education Boards scoring 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
3.Group T (Non-Technical) Medical Asst Trade
- Qualification Required: 12th standard pass / Intermediate / equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English scoring 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
4. Groups ‘X&Y’ (Eligible for both Technical & Non-Technical).
- Qualification Required: 12th pass / equivalent exam with Maths , Physics and English scoring 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Candidates will undergo test for Group ‘X’ and Group T subjects in one sitting and can qualify for Group ‘X’ or Group Y or both. If candidates passes in English, Physics and Maths, then he is considered pass in Group ‘X’ and if he passes in English and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) then he will be considered pass in Group Y. If a candidate clears in all the 4 subjects, he will be considered pass in Group ‘X’ and Group T. for Group ‘X’, Diploma holders are also eligible.
Age Limit: From 7 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.
Height: Minimum 152.5 cm. Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm. Weight: Proportionate to height and age. However, for for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade, minimum weight of 55 Kg is required .
Salary: Rs. 11,400/-per month during training thereafter Rs. 26,685/- for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades, Rs. 23,535/- per month for Group Y (Non-Technical).
